Project Detail CORRIDORS MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE RING OF GROWTH IN WEST AFRICA (WAGRI-CACAO) 1. TITLE OF THE PROJECT: Yeji Road Construction - Kitampo (77km) Prang-Yeji (40.6km)   2. COUNTRIES OF INTERVENTION: Republic of Ghana 3. AREA OF INTERVENTION: Eastern Bono Region 4. AREA OF INTERVENTION: Agriculture 5. STRATEGIC AXES OF THE MASTER PLAN: Interregional and regional road improvement projects to provide better access to potential agricultural areas from the central corridor 6. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: The Prang-Yeji Road is part of the Kumasi - Chambulig interregional road called IR 4 which starts at Koumassi in the Ashanti region and ends at Chambuligu in the northern region, which ensures interregional coherence. . The road allows shuttles in the agricultural communities of Yeji and Atebubu. These areas are renowned for their yam crops and fish around Lake Volta. It is currently in a deplorable state, negatively affecting the movement of people and goods. Roads, when rebuilt, specifically aim to strengthen the integration of the regions mentioned and also strengthen economic activity - the movement mainly of agricultural products and people on the markets, to facilitate trade and economic integration. Road reconstruction will also benefit people in the areas of influence by improving travel safety and reducing transportation costs for passengers and freight, thereby contributing to poverty reduction. 7. MAJOR STAKEHOLDERS Project management: State Project Manager: Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) Beneficiaries: People in the area of ??influence of the project and the whole region Other stakeholders: Public service agencies, PAPs, local authorities (eg district assemblies) and structures within the road corridor right-of-way Coordination and monitoring-evaluation  The Ministry of Roads and Highways will ensure effective coordination. Other actors will be the Ghana Highway Authority, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance. A project implementation unit will be put in place to monitor through inspection and field reports. 8.
