CORRIDORS MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE RING OF GROWTH IN WEST AFRICA (WAGRI-CACAO)

6.JUSTIFICATION OF THE PROJECT: This project aims at creating and making available to economic operators new industrial zones to facilitate their implementation

Other stakeholders: MINEFID, MUH, MEEVCC, Local authorities, Populations
Coordination and monitoring-evaluation - A monitoring committee composed of key structures of the project will be set up;
- A control office will also be recruited to ensure the quality of the works
8. STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS
General Objective (Goal): Contribute to the promotion of investments through the establishment of industrial infrastructures
Specific objectives: 1. Make the new Bobo-Dioulasso industrial area viable;
2. To provide companies with suitable spaces for industrial activities
Expected results :
(Deliverables and effects) 3. the new industrial zone of Bobo-Dioulasso is serviced;
4. industrial developers have appropriate spaces for their activities
Main activities :
1. demarcation, demarcation and parcelling of sites
2. Achievement of Strategic Environmental Studies (SEA)
3. Conduct of environmental and social impact studies (ESIA)
4. mobilization of land (expropriation, compensation of PAPs)
5. development work (roads, pipes)
6. servicing works (water, electricity, telephone, internet)
Environmental and social impact: The measures to be taken to reduce the negative effects of the project on its social and physical environment could be:
At the social level
- the compensation of the people affected by the project;
- job creation (6,000 new jobs);
- the realization of basic social infrastructures (schools, health centers, boreholes, sports and leisure centers ...)
At the environmental level
- a significant reduction in ambient air pollution and noise pollution;
- the drastic reduction of pollution and soil degradation;
- the significant reduction of pollution of surface water and groundwater;
- improving the harmony of the landscape.
- the reduction of the destruction of the vegetation cover of the industrial zone;
- the creation of green spaces to compensate for the felling of trees.
