Project Name Sport for Development and Human Rights 2019
Project Detail SHORT DESCRIPTION: Overall goal The project is the follow-up project to "Our Game - Our Game for Human Rights 2018". The project uses the popularity of sport as a vehicle for raising awareness of human rights, development policy and global issues. The aim is to sensitize and mobilize the sports community and its key players for the Agenda 2030 (SDG) and the full realization of human rights in and through sport. In the longer term, broad and professional sport should be an example of exemplary human rights and sustainability standards, as well as of a permanently anchored human rights culture. Expected results (1) Youth workshops and education: 2 multiplier seminars, 1 workshop leader training with 12 participants, 20 fairplay workshops for young people with 300 participants; 1 guide (Edition 500 pcs); (2) Campaign and ÖA: 2 action days with 300 participants, 2 networking Meeting, 1 panel discussion (100TN); (3) Our Game-Sport for Human Rights: 4 sessions of the AG Sport and Human Rights in Sport ministry (60 participants), 2 international study visits (Arhus, Geneva, Cameroon), information and communication local alarm: 16 editorial contributions in media, 3 interview appointments, 2 press releases, 2 banners, 1 roll-up, stickers, 70 T-shirts; Website support, social media, newsletter. Directly 1,500 people, indirectly via media work approx. 70,000 people reached. Target group / Beneficiaries Target groups: Primary are sports stakeholders (associations, clubs, athletes), educational multipliers of extracurricular youth work, decision makers in politics and administration, human rights initiatives, migrant communities and sports media. A broad, young sport-interested public in Austria is reached; especially girls / young women and socially disadvantaged youths (11-19 years) are actively involved. Partner / Cooperation: The project is based on a broad (inter) national network. VIDC Fair Play is a competence center in the field of football / sports and development / anti-discrimination. The successful network work is sustainably incorporated into the EP communication and education in Ö. The World Cup projects (Nosso Jogo, Our Game) have built a network of over 160 (inter) national organizations from a very broad social spectrum. Activities The project 2019 is based on 3 modules. (1) Youth and education work with different workshops and multiplier trainings should be continued. A particular concern is the involvement of girls and socially disadvantaged young people through offers in extracurricular youth work. (2) Campaigning and public relations work will be implemented through actions around the International Day for Sport for Development and Peace (6 April) and the FIFA Womens World Cup (7 June-7 July, France). Different topics are in focus. Sport, gender and womens empowerment with development-policy topics should be brought in connection, networking meetings on the subject of sport & development should take place and the SDG should be known. The third module (3) "Our Game" focuses on respect for human rights and promoting the sustainability of sports (events) through networking, advocacy and lobbying (AG Sport and Human Rights, EU and UN level).
