SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Overall goal
The media project of Radio Orange 94.0 and the Womens Solidarity magazine will be dealing with the topic of women / gender equality in the context of the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in 2019 under the title "Broadcasts for Change II - Follow up". The SDG focus of the previous year is thus continued. At the center are women as central development actors and changemakers. In addition to the design of radio contributions by the womens editorial group "Women on Air", the further education and motivation of honorary radio mediators is a focal point. The project informs the general public about the Global Sustainable Development Goals and enhances the presence of women in the media - both as designers and as protagonists of reporting. An exchange of information and knowledge with theme-specific institutions and networks, South partners and other free radio stations should take place.
Expected results
Twenty-five radio contributions to development policy topics are produced and broadcast in the weekly series "Global Dialogues", as well as 11 short articles on the focal topic of SDGs are produced, published, presented and distributed as a final project (booklet + CD). Information on the Global Sustainable Development Goals is disseminated and, in particular, the role of women in their implementation is discussed. All contributions are made available for listening and downloading online (via website - noso.at , Austrian platform of the Free Radios - cba.fro.at and Radio App - app.o94.at ). Workshops for new and experienced radio mediators are held.
Target group / Beneficiaries
In total, around 10,000 listeners will be reached via Radio ORANGE, which will increase as a result of the broadcasts of other free radio stations in Austria (and Europe), Internet users, teaching staff in the field of school, vocational and adult education and higher education, those interested in development and culture. Potential and already active radiomakers acquire knowhow, especially young women. New target groups are to be reached through radio-overlapping workshops for radio producers of other series. About 30 radio producers will be directly involved in the editorial work. Indirectly, the project reaches a reach of 100,000 people via the broadcasting of radio tips and announcements via Facebook and in daily newspapers.
The regional focus of the project is on Vienna (with broadcasts broadcast throughout Austria).
Activities
The series Global Dialogues is broadcast weekly (Tue 13-14h) and made available online for listening. In addition to the design of radio contributions by the womens editorial group "Women on Air", the further education and motivation of the volunteer radio mediators is also the focus of the project. The topics covered will be processed in parallel for Radio / Podcast, Website, Social Media and Print (Womens Solidarity Magazine). With a mentoring project, different generations of radio producers come into contact with each other. |
