Project Detail |
SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Overall goal
The project focuses on screenings of feature and documentary films on current socio-political topics followed by a discussion. The knowledge about global contexts should be expanded, commitment should be promoted and the establishment of learning spaces should be made possible. Special focus is on the consideration of the realities of life of women and girls. The films invite to reflect, and want to set in motion a softening of traditional ideas and gender role attribution.
Expected results
15 film screenings with 25 to 40 participants at various locations followed by a discussion with directors / experts and translators. Around 500 people attend the events.
Target group / Beneficiaries
Primarily, the measures address young people and adults with a migrant background who live in Austria and have little access to non-formal education. The interested Austrian public is another target group. The film screenings take place primarily in Vienna as well as in Lower Austria (St. Pölten, Amstetten) and Upper Austria (Wels).
The activities are implemented with a broad spectrum of cooperation partners. These include the music school SUPERAR in the bread factory, youth library Vienna Philadelphiabrücke, Flash girls cafe, Cinema Paradiso St. Pölten, program cinema Wels, Votivkino, VHS Floridsdorf and others
Activities
15 low-threshold and barrier-free (free) presentations of feature and documentary films followed by a discussion. The films offer a varied program. They deal with current socio-political issues (gender justice, human rights, sustainable lifestyles, economics and consumption), but do not completely ignore the conversation. |
