SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Overall goal
The project objective is the development of a qualification and certification network for sustainable travel offers in Uganda. Private Safari, a specialist tour operator of Switzerland-based DER Touristik Suisse AG, offers high-quality travel to Uganda and is certified with the TourCert quality seal for sustainable tourism businesses. Private Safari enables Ugandan tourism agencies and lodging establishments to become part of an internationally consistently certified sustainable tourism service chain with improved access to the European market by introducing environmental and social sustainability standards. Expected results
During the project, eight counselors, including five women, will be trained. Three pilot companies will be certified and 20 more will be introduced to certification with the TourCert Check. The individual companies train 23 CSR managers and 23 product managers, 16 of them women each. 230 people employed in tourist businesses, including 160 women, benefit from better working conditions.
Target group / Beneficiaries
The target group includes hotels and tour operators in Uganda as well as their employees.
Activities
The project measures include the adaptation of the TourCert certification system to the local context, the development of a qualification concept, the establishment of STTA, AUTO and UOHA as local network managers, the consulting and certification of companies, as well as marketing measures in the German-speaking area. |
