The project includes the new construction, reconstruction, extension and renovation of colleges (ie lower secondary schools) in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of France. It targets a subset of the departmental investment plan for education, the "Plan Charlemagne". The project integrates 22 investment operations in favor of public colleges: four college buildings, three college reconstructions, three construction of some college buildings, six partial modernization operations of existing colleges, including renovation, reconstruction and / or new construction, and six existing college renovation projects or other developments related to internal retrofit, energy efficiency
Objectives
The main objective of the program is to provide better learning conditions for pupils and the educational community by creating additional capacity in schools and by renovating existing spaces that have become obsolete. All building construction and renovation projects will be energy efficient and will follow energy efficiency standards. The project will have a major impact on the preparation of adolescents for further studies including high school as well as the labor market in general. The project will also have a major impact on social integration, particularly because some of the colleges are located in less developed localities. |
