The Grand Chemin Facility consists of two components, a marine facility, located approximately 400m offshore to facilitate the safe berthing of fishing vessels and a landslide facility for the sale of fish, as well as for storage and other facilities for the local fisher folk.
In 2018, NIDCO conducted preliminary surveys, Submitted a Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC) Application and commenced the land acquisition process for the landside facility. Detailed designs for the marine facility were initiated and are currently approximately 90% complete.
In 2019, NIDCO intends to complete all designs for both the marine and landside components, obtain all statutory approvals and commence construction of the landside facility. |
