PROJECT DETAILS
In 2017, BGC were awarded a 5 year contract to deliver mining and equipment maintenance services at the Boggabri open-cut coal mine in New South Wales. The mine supports a workforce of about 600 employees whom all live locally with their families and are part of the community. The mine produces up to 7 million tonnes per annum of saleable coal with a mine life to 2033.
Coal mine is processed through a recently completed coal handling and preparation plant before being transported to the Port of Newcastle for international export.
The contract includes overburden removal and mobile plant maintenance of the largest Komatsu mining fleet in Australia, in addition to the industry’s largest ‘ultra-class’ Leibherr R9800 800t class excavator and Komatsu 930E 300t rear dump trucks.
