Project Detail |
Under the authority of the High Authority for Peacebuilding, the project aims to reduce inter-community conflicts by promoting socio-economic development and social cohesion in the north of the Tillabéry region.
This objective is broken down into two main axes:
the development and improvement of access to water for pastoral populations through the creation of peace complexes where, around a pastoral drilling, it is a question of regrouping basic services like community cereal banks, livestock feed banks, health centers and schools.
an axis of social cohesion that tends to mobilize youth through the support of initiatives already in place such as caravans of peace, civil-military rapprochement activities, capacity building of youth and womens organizations, cultural and sporting events.
IMPACTS
The project will improve the networking of pastoral hydraulic infrastructure and basic services. Income-generating activities will contribute to job creation for the most vulnerable. The project will help reduce social tensions by strengthening the bonds of trust between the population and the authorities.
It contributes to the strategy of adaptation to climate change and aims to strengthen local authorities and the legitimacy of public action in these areas where the state has little presence. |
