DESCRIPTIVE
The Urban Water Sector Reform Support Project in Enugu, Ondo and Plateau states aims to:
Improve access to drinking water services in the capitals of these states.
Improve the financial viability of water companies through an increase in their revenues.
Support the improvement of the governance of the sector at the level of the federal states but also of the federal state.
The project provides for this:
Strengthening of drinking water supply systems in state capitals.
Accompanying measures that benefit the federal states, water companies and the Federal Ministry for Drinking Water with a view notably to ensuring the empowerment of companies, the improvement of their technical and commercial performance, and accompany the reform process of the entire urban water sector.
IMPACTS
Nearly 900,000 people have access to an improved drinking water source.
More than 100,000 home connections created and equipped with individual meters.
370 km of additional pipes laid. |
