The aim of the project is to empower and empower young voters and first-time voters in 24 municipalities in Moldova to participate actively in political and decision-making processes as well as in community initiatives. (Contribution to SDGs 4 - Quality Education, 5 - Gender Equality, 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, 17 - Partnerships for the Goals).
expected results
1: Young voters and first-time voters in 24 target communities have increased their awareness of the principles of civic participation and democratic processes.
2: Voters and first-time voters in 24 target communities have improved their skills and leadership to champion their rights and engage in electoral and decision-making processes.
3: An effective democratic dialogue between decision-makers and young and first-time voters is established.
4: Sustainable platforms have been set up to promote knowledge generation, exchange of experience and cross-border cooperation in the field of civic engagement and youth participation.
target group
Direct beneficiaries:
1: At least 2,400 young voters and first-time voters (24 x100) out of 24 target communities, including at least 1,200 young women.
2: At least 720 (24 x 30) representatives of the central and local authorities, election administration bodies, educators, representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs).
3: At least 200 representatives of educational institutions.
Indirect beneficiaries:
At least 15,000 young people (including disadvantaged young people) from 24 target communities through awareness-raising campaigns;
at least 45,000 young people and at least 500,000 citizens from the target and neighboring communities of the 8 target regions through information campaigns;
at least 48,000 citizens from 24 target communities through youth microprojects.

Awareness campaigns; Setting up information corners in youth centers and / or youth councils; Drawing up a toolkit on equality between women and men; Simulation selection program for young voters and first-time voters in all target communities; Leadership Summer Camp; Micro-grants (small youth projects); Conducting a study visit for young people and relevant stakeholders in Austria; joint working sessions of relevant stakeholders (central and local authorities, electoral administrators, educators and CSO representatives); Round tables (young people and first-time voters and key stakeholders); Engaging young voters and first-time voters in election observation during the upcoming elections (2018 and 2020); Establishment of an online knowledge center; Creating an online youth platform (newsletters, toolkits, online discussions, blogs) for social networking and wider public relations for the most disadvantaged young people in remote rural areas; Meeting with educational institutions to promote the Methodological Guide for simulation campaigns as an educational tool. |
