The project aims to set up an accredited training center to close the skills gap in the work-based learning and education (technical) market in Kosovo.
The center will operate on three levels: post-secondary vocational training (2 years), professional qualification (6-12 months) and skills validation. The focus is on the development of technical skills in areas such as mechatronics, electromechanics, electrical installation, water supply, heating and air conditioning installation.
expected results
The goal is reached when:
- The curricula are developed and accredited.
- 250 students (at least 20% women) have received training and acquired practical skills in the training center (in the medium term this number increases to 410 students per year).
- 220 pupils have found a job.
- Have at least 5 companies access to well-educated workers.
- A PR concept was developed that encourages women to apply for jobs in the manufacturing and service industries
- The acquired knowledge is shared with other schools in Kosovo.
target group
The target group are students interested in post-secondary education, unemployed young people between the ages of 18 and 35, craftsmen in need of skills validation, and manufacturing and service industries. The project will work closely with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, two local schools, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, the Ministrys Municipal Employment Offices and the Kosova Chamber of Commerce.
