SHORT DESCRIPTION: project goal 1.) Development of a quality seed production (wheat) including advice in all steps of variety testing and variety registration according to EU standards for the Georgian market; and 2.) Introduction of contract farming for bread cereals according to the Austrian model in the cereal growing regions of Kakheti and Kartli in the east and southeast of Georgia. expected results - Seed propagation system is established and 25 seed producers produce quality seeds according to EU standards for the Georgian market - Contract farming system for quality wheat according to Austrian model with at least 50 grain producers has been established (including production and supply contracts with premium model for producers); For 2021, 3200 tonnes of quality wheat are expected from 800ha of contract production. - 14 new jobs were created at the local project partner Noblex, the mills and bakeries involved. target group The 25 seed producers and 50 grain producers as well as about 750 farmers, 5 employees of the 1-2 involved mills (among others Geomill as largest mill in Georgia), 15 employees of the 5 involved bakeries and 5 agricultural advisors of the Ministry of Agriculture. activities - Establishment of a quality seed production chain and contract farming for quality wheat - Special trip to Austria for participating farmers, mills, bakeries and.
