Project Detail |
Skanska is providing preconstruction, design-assist and construction management at risk services for an expansion and renovation on an urban campus adjacent to critical hospital functions. Additionally, enablement work had to be completed to start the new construction, inclusive of MRI relocations, 35 Kv and emergency power. The project is being delivered as a phased occupancy with the levels one through four being delivered first, followed by the six-level tower, as well as the rooftop mechanical, heliport and heliport operations above the six-story tower. The last phase of the project is multi-level, multi-phased interior renovations. The renovations included stair egress (e.g., adjusting signage, relocating emergency exits, etc.), corridor pathways, locker rooms, break rooms, emergency department, patient transport, sterile storage, CDU, lobbies, surgery support, anesthesia, Prep/Post, EP lab, PACU, administration and pediatric waiting rooms, and equipment storage areas.
The main project is a 444,000-SF, ground level through rooftop heliport expansion including emergency and interventional departments. Once complete, the facility will have 84 beds with a future capacity of 180 when shell floor space is fitted out. There are 80 treatment positions in the emergency department expansion allowing 75,000-80,000 visits a year. The project also includes medical imaging including radiography, CT and ultrasound rooms. The interventional platform is comprised of operating rooms, interventional cardiology and interventional radiology. In addition, a helipad will be constructed on top of the tower. The project also includes 90,000-SF of multi-phased renovation work. |
