The project to reconstruct the Interstate 81 bridges over Reed Creek in Wythe County began fall 2018. The bridges are located about one-mile north of the Interstate 77 split at Interstate 81 exit 81. Benefits The bridges are almost 60 years old and have reached their life span. Replacement of the bridges, which carry 41,000 vehicles per day, will enhance safety.
