Project Detail |
In 2023 the double track from Oslo to Langset in Eidsvoll will be completed. Construction start for Venjar-Eidsvoll north is expected in November 2018. Construction start for Eidsvoll nord-Langset is expected before summer 2019.
The planning plan for Venjar-Eidsvoll station (4.5 km) was adopted in the Eidsvoll municipal council in the autumn of 2016. The planning plan for the stretch Eidsvoll station to Langset (of almost 9 km) was adopted by the same municipal council soon after.
Routes to Eidsvoll station
The section with one track between Venjar and Eidsvoll station has been a bottleneck since the Gardermobanen opened in 1998. Now the plan is that a new double track is ready for use in 2022.
In the 90s, the Gardermobanen was built with double tracks up to Venjar in Eidsvoll municipality. Jernbaneverket is now in the process of building a new track parallel to the old one, where the new track is laid on the east side all the way from Venjar to Eidsvoll station.
The route is 4.5 kilometers long and goes through a challenging terrain in a hilly ravine landscape with loose soil and demanding ground conditions. One-third of the stretch will consist of constructions, among other things it will build four bridges and an approximately 400-meter long tunneling tunnel in an open building pit. At Eidsvoll station only necessary adaptations with tracks and signals must be made.
In March 2015, Jernbaneverket announced the start of work on a new zoning plan between Venjar and Eidsvoll station. The zoning plan was adopted by the Eidsvoll municipal council on 6 September 2016 and construction starts towards the end of 2018.
Eidsvoll to Langset The
planning of a new double track on the 8.8 kilometer long stretch on the Dovrebanen from Eidsvoll station to Langset is underway. At Eidsvoll station only necessary adaptations with tracks and signals must be made. Norways second longest railway bridge crosses Minnevika and becomes 836 meters long.
The route corridor on the route Eidsvoll-Langset was approved by the Ministry of the Environment in a municipal sub-plan in 2009, following a comprehensive process of assessing, among other things, technical and economic consequences and impacts on the environment and society through various alternatives.
In June 2015, the Eidsvoll municipal council adopted the route on the stretch. The planning plan is dealt with by Eidsvoll municipal council on October 18, 2016. Construction start is planned in spring 2019. New double track is ready for use in 2023. |
