Existing platform will be extended and upgraded at Sørumsand station. A new platform is built on track three and the intermediate platform at track 2 has to be demolished. An underpass must be established for the passengers under the tracks. In connection with this underpass there will be a lift so that the access becomes easy for wheelchair users and prams.
The project starts construction in October 2018 and will continue these work throughout the winter of 2019.
During the construction period, the parking facilities will be changed and somewhat limited. The travelers have to rely on construction fences and signage, which means that the access to the platform changes several times during the construction project.
When there is development and other work along the railway, it usually has some consequences for the surroundings. We want everything to happen as smoothly and easily as possible for you. Therefore, here you get an overview of what will happen at Sørumsand station until Christmas 2019.
The project is divided into two phases. Phase 1 runs from October 2018 to May 2018, and Phase 2 is between June and December 2019.
Phase 1:
January 2019:
• In January, the cables from Hafslund and Telenor under the railway track will be changed.
• It will be completed in late January. The tapping is preparatory work to the underpass (culvert) that will go under the track when the plant is completed.
(A punch is a steel support structure used to keep debris away from excavations. It can be temporary and removed when the work is finished or standing permanently. The pile is made up of rolled steel profiles called pile needles).
• Tracks 2 and 3 were taken out of service in the autumn of 2018 so that the contractor could work without train traffic in order to build a new platform at track 3.
• Parts of the contact pipeline system have been rebuilt in track 1 where todays train traffic runs.
• Bane NOR held a public meeting in October 2018 . A new public meeting will be held well in advance of Easter - mid-March.

PHASE 2:
• From around June 1, 2019, track 1 will be taken out of operation and the train traffic will depart from track 3. Then the public must be prepared for some signage and change of access at the station and a little further away to go to the train from the car park and the center. and the station side.
• Bane NOR has an agreement with Sørum municipality that the parking lot below the NAV building can be used for the travelers in phase 2 - ie between June and December 2019.
• We ask everyone to be aware that the bus for trains will not stop when Sørumsand station stands finished December 1st.
Bus for trains will continue for the next 2 ½ years. The reason is the need for access to tracks without train traffic, because there is a large-scale renewal of the contact pipeline system on the whole of Kongsvingerbanen between Lillestrøm and Riksgrensen .
