Project Detail |
Appalachian Power and its affiliate, West Virginia Transmission Co., plan to strengthen the transmission
system in southern West Virginia by upgrading its existing electrical infrastructure.
The Boone - South Charleston Project will rebuild about 18 miles of an existing transmission line, relocate a
substation and make upgrades to additional substations to provide Boone and Kanawha counties with
continued reliable electric service.
The project is the second phase of the larger Boone County Area Improvements Project. Construction is
expected to start at the end of 2018 and last about two years.
Estimated budget for this phase is $40 million
