Project Detail |
Energy infrastructure company Williams Gas is expanding its Transco natural gas transmission system in Alabama to meet growing demand for natural gas by utilities, industries, and power generators in the southeastern US. To add 1,131,730 dekatherms per day of capacity, the expansion includes approximately 43 miles of pipeline looping, a new compressor station, and modifications at three existing compressor stations. It is being constructed in three phases between 2017 and 2021.
Cardno has provided Williams Gas with National Environmental Policy Act and environmental permitting support and reporting to secure Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval and other necessary permits and compliance requirements.
Our services have included environmental project management, biological and environmental field surveys and report preparation needed for permit pre-filing support and application development.
We also consulted early in the project planning with local, state and federal agencies to identify sensitive areas, maintaining project quality and momentum.
Our team is providing construction support, including environmental training and oversight, and post-construction support, including stormwater inspections/reports, and ongoing wetland monitoring for compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requirements.
Construction of all three phases of the pipeline will be completed by May 2021 and will begin supplying natural gas throughout the line’s service area. |
