Project Detail |
In a major move to improve the efficiency of their operations, Shell UK Exploration & Production Ltd and their Dutch partner company NAM combined their assets in the Southern North Sea under a single management and operational structure called ONEgas. ONEgas needed a company with experience of offshore asset support to take responsibility for raising the long-term performance of 50 offshore gas production platforms and two gas plants under a single Integrated Service Contract.
The improvements we made to the efficiency of the gas production facilities are making a direct and positive impact on production – increasing long-term revenues for our customer.
"The improvements we made to the efficiency of the gas production facilities are making a direct and positive impact on production – increasing long-term revenues for our customer."
Craig Shanaghey, Project Director
We created a new, international joint venture with a UK and a Dutch company to deliver the complete services solution to our customer. The joint venture, AJS (Amec Foster Wheeler, Jacobs Engineering, Stork), is responsible for the design and management of capital projects and for continuous operational support, including modifications, maintenance and the supply of skilled personnel. AJS also provides back-office support in terms of financial management, planning, health, safety and environmental services.
Our experience in managing offshore asset support operations in the North Sea and further afield in West Africa, has enabled us to help improve the safety and reliability of the existing facilities and contribute towards extending their productive life. At the same time, AJS has managed shutdowns efficiently, minimising the amount of time that gas production is offline and has helped to raise overall production levels through continuous maintenance and upgrades.
