Project Name | Granger - Benton Harbor Transmission Line Rebuild Project |
Project Detail | Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is investing $92 million in strengthening the transmission system in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan. Approximately 46 miles of 138-kilovolt (kv) line will be upgraded to provide a more stable and reliable source of energy. Modernizing the infrastructure sets up the power grid for projected growth in the area and updating the equipment speeds recovery of service when outages occur. I&M will replace existing lattice towers with steel monopole structures averaging approximately 120-feet in height. Structures will be located in an approximate 100-foot wide right-of-way corridor. I&M is committed to carefully balancing the energy needs of residential and business customers while protecting the environment and natural beauty of the region. Structure Height: Approximately 120 feet Right-of-Way Width: Approximately 100 feet |
