Smith State Route: I-5 Current Status: Pre-Construction Legislative Districts: 42 Project Description There has been an increased use of the rest areas since the sewer was designed in 1980. The Ferndale Sewer has now been extended closer to the rest area. We presently maintain 6.4 miles of 2 and 3 pressure PVC sewer line that requires frequent maintenance that serves both the SB and NB rest areas. Installing a new sewer line to that will intercept the municipal sewer closer to the rest area will meet the higher demand, reduce sewer maintenance, and improve reliability.
