Project Detail |
The Deli river flowing through the Medan city of North Sumatra Province has become sanitary environment in recent years due to water pollution of rivers. Although the State Environment Bureau is proceeding with the introduction of sewerage improvement and distributed wastewater treatment facilities, in actual operation, it is necessary to improve understanding and awareness of residents who are emitters. However, at the present time, there is a shortage of human resources capable of sufficiently practicing environmental education. Since 2011, Kitakyushu City has implemented a waste management improvement project in Medan City, and has been constructing a waste disposal system through composting and garbage banks based on the participation of residents. In cooperation with Kitakyushu City University, we held a workshop using the environmental education method cultivated by the city. Based on these achievements, local related organizations are requesting to support environmental promotion for water environment improvement. Four.
