In Papua province, Tempe and tofu etc. are important national foods, and soybean which is a raw material thereof is a valuable protein source and is indispensable food crop for the life of the people of Papua. However, the self-sufficiency rate of soybeans in Papua province is low, and we rely on other areas for 75% of soy consumption. Among them, there are many imports of soybeans from the United States, and since it is directly affected by the dollar rise and the depreciation of the rupiah, increasing production volumes and stable supply in the domestic market are urgent issues.

Four. Project goal Papua State Food Crop Gardening and Bureau staff will acquire knowledge and skills related to soybean cultivation and how to select varieties of soybeans suitable for Papua state environment and improve soybean yield increase technology in Papua province.
