Bancomer Tower
At the beginning of 2014, this will be the second highest skyscraper, at 235 metres, in Mexico City and in the country, after the Reforma Tower at 244 metres.
This tower will be the main headquarters in Mexico of BBVA Bancomer, containing the main offices for this country and for all Latin-America.
This new skyscraper, with its post-modern design, is being constructed in an area of 183,000 square metres, located in front of the Torre Mayor. It will have 50 floors. The design includes green belts and its specifications will allow some 25% energy savings, together with water consumption reduction of between 30% and 50%.
Bancomer Operations Centre
The building is to be the BBVA Bancomer Operations Centre, which will house 4,215 employees and it was designed by the prestigious architecture studio of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; it is being constructed on a 13,442 square metre plot in an area of great expansion called Nuevo Polanco, between Mariano Escobedo Avenue and Calle Laguna de Mayrán.
The building design philosophy was based on space and energy efficiency, supported by the use of cutting-edge technology in order to obtain the building environmental certification under the concept of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Level.
The structure is of reinforced concrete and the floor surfaces vary on various levels to produce a pleasant volumetry of façades, designed with materials having technical properties that reduce electricity consumption.
It will have a total constructed area of 153,256 square metres made up of thirty levels, technical floors and heliport, in addition to nine basements for 2,332 parking spaces, with a building height of 131.65 metres above the grade line.
It will also include a dining room for 900 persons, an auditorium, five terraces, an amenities pavilion and twenty-nine lifts.
