This project consists of improving the services provided by the Chicago Sports Complex in Trujillo, in La Libertad Department of northeast Peru.
The works consist of the construction of an athletics stadium, a closed coliseum, a sports centre and all the additional infrastructure required for the 2013 Bolivarian Games, an international sports event that takes place every four years between the Bolivarian nations of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela. The following countries will be taking part as guests in 2013, Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay and .Spain
The larger space of the new installations is for the athletics stadium, for 5,505 spectators, with a total area of 23,587 m2.
The stadium includes a 400-metre athletics track with a central natural-grass area, two 61-metre long and triple-jump tracks with sand boxes at both ends, two pole-vault tracks, two high-jump tracks, two javelin throwing areas with corridor, two discus and two hammer throwing platforms.
A warm-up track will be constructed under the terraces, together with athlete and judge boxes, men and womens saunas and gymnasiums. There is also a centre for hydrotherapy, cardiovascular, paraffin therapy, electro-medicine and ultrasound.
The complex also includes a closed coliseum for 2,514 spectators and an area of almost 4,000 m2 and a sports centre with four synthetic material basketball and volleyball courts with four seating tiers for 2,688 spectators and an area of 6,466 m2.
These new installations will include a 235-space parking lot, a pedestrian avenue, with central gardens and a three-floor building housing the general services.
