Project Detail |
Metro of Lima
The awarded project consists of the construction of 35 underground subway stations linked along 35 kilometers of tunnels. More than 3,000 professionals will participate in the works. The choice of an underground transport system will allow a lesser impact on the life of the city, as well as a true urban transformation given that many land areas where the new Metro will pass will become green areas.
Line 2 will have a length of almost 27 kilometers and will cover the east-west axis of Lima from Ate to Callao, where FCC also carries out refurbishment works for the port of this town. Once in operation, its 27 passenger stations will serve more than 600,000 people a day, which will save up to 90 minutes on its journey. Currently two hours and twenty minutes are needed to cover that journey by car.
For its part, the branch line 4 that will link the Peruvian capital with the airport will run along eight kilometers of tunnel, from Faucett avenues to Néstor Gambetta. In this journey, eight stations will be built.
In addition, the contract includes the execution of the superstructure, the supply of rolling stock, the implementation of the electromechanical equipment, the railway systems and the power supply, necessary for the operation of the metro. |
