Project Detail |
The hybrid MRV100 CNG system improves on existing generators by being both more efficient and cleaner. Similar in principle to cars such as the Toyota Prius, the hybrid power system for the food cart keeps its generator operating at its most efficient point. The new food cart system also has a solar panel to charge the battery and to minimize the CNG consumption. Over 50% of the time the generator is off and the cart operates silently on battery alone. By this way, this system, engineered specifically for mobile food vending, reduces generator noise by half and decreases climate change emissions by two-thirds.
On the other hand, an alternative to idling using fossil fuels have been developed for ambulances. As these vehicles need to keep communications systems ready and medicine refrigerated at all the times, the alternative option to the fossil fuel consumption is to use grid electricity chargers. These chargers are fixed sidewalk access to grid electricity at designated parking spots.
