A Bechtel-led consortium is designing and building a new terminal and associated facilities at Muscat International Airport. The 29-gate passenger terminal building, which features the latest state-of-the-art technology, will accommodate 12 million passengers annually.
Oman plans further expansions in three subsequent phases to boost the airport’s annual capacity to 24, 36, and 48 million passengers when the demand warrants.

The project encompasses:
96 check-in counters
29 boarding bridges
30 remote aircraft stands
10 bus-boarding lounges
A 90-room hotel
Further, our project team is installing a system that can process 5,500 pieces of luggage per hour, and its building enough parking capacity for 8,000 motor vehicles.
