Project Description:
two motorway road tunnels and one rail tunnel under the Suez Canal for the coming of Port Said to Sinai and the other in order to connect the Sinai and East of the Suez Canal Valley and Delta; and to facilitate the movement of people and goods to and from Sinai; achieve the desired development of this area in parallel with the development of Sinai and Canal Zone.
Statistics data about the works executed by the AC: The project works started on May 2015, the giant Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) accomplished its works after different soil treatment process.
The tunnels are considered of the most huge one in the region, each one of them reach total length 4km including the entrance and exits and its body is 2.8km under the Suez Canal separated by 20m space, the internal diameter for each tunnel is 11,4m and the external diameter is 12,6m to allow for the passing of 2 cars on each side with a total height 5m which facilitating the crossing of the containers cargo to and from the East of the Shunts, encouraging the construction of factories in East of Port Said with a level reached 30m depth under the Suez Canal.
Besides, the construction of diaphragm walls for the entrances and exits for these tunnels with total area 195m³ in addition to the execution of bridges, culverts and roads to link with the current exist road network.
