Goals
Overall Goal
Sound environmental and social solid waste management service is delivered over Palestine in sustainable manner.
Project goal
Sustainable Solid waste management system is established by JSCs equally over the West Bank area Palestine under the well-prepared policy, plan, institution, support and coordination made by MoLG.
Outputs
MOLGs capacity for instruction, support and coordination to JSCs is enhanced through implementing activities with targeted 5 JSCs in SWM.
MoLGs capacity for preparing standards, regulations and guidelines in solid waste management is enhanced.
MoLGs capacity for preparing national policies and plans in solid waste management is enhanced.
MoLGs management capacity at organizational level is enhanced.

Approach
To support MoLG for conducting trading and to facilitating on the job training to strengthen the capacity of staff in the five target JSCs.
To enhance the capacity of staff in MoLG through conducting researches and pilot projects as well as preparing policies, guidelines, and standards, in particular about landfill environmental auditing, waste reduction, and construction & demolition waste.
To functionalize the National Team for SWM for revising National Strategy and facilitating PPP activities.
To establish a management framework (proper organization and regular meetings) for and administrate the project. |
