Project Detail |
The CaPFish Aquaculture project aims to address the constraints of the Cambodian aquaculture sector to ensure more sustainable, resilient and climate resilient growth. It also intends to contribute to the diversification and improvement of the food security of rural populations. The CaPFish project is fully aligned with the National Aquaculture Development Strategy and the Fisheries Sector Planning Framework. It adopts a support policy that encompasses all components of the aquaculture value chain by supporting both public and private sectors: hatcheries, livestock systems, food production, food security, nutrition. It will support the diffusion of more sustainable practices adapted to climate change, whether in extensive and semi-extensive systems (pond fish farming, cage / paddock farming, mixed farming in integrated systems) or on commercial aquaculture systems on land-based systems. fish species with high added value, destined for export and requiring a high level of inputs (notably reducing their dependence on the use of trash fish ). The objective: to contribute to the diversification of incomes and to the improvement of the food and nutritional security of rural households. |
