Project Detail |
The contribution to the LARES Education Program (formerly RECADEL) is a tool for improving the educational success of girls and young women, which promotes their socio-professional integration. It aims to influence educational policies and practices in Benin. Indeed, equity in access to basic education and vocational training for young women and their retention in the system, especially in the Borgou department, are not always provided by the State. Benin has a high rate of population growth (3.5% according to provisional results of the 2013 Census) which results in high educational demand. Incentives have been implemented since 2006 and have led to progress, but questions of quality of learning, coaching and training / employment inadequacy still remain. Likewise, boys / girls equity in the success and completion of basic education remains a challenge. The initiative of the 2nd Education Forum could solve some of the problems of the system and influence the support of the SDC. |
