This project, set up in the eastern neighborhoods of the capital, contributes to the improvement of health and living conditions by: strengthening public water and sanitation policy through the development of a plan for wastewater management, a legal and institutional framework for the management of standpipes or a national strategy for urban water supply; the reduction of floods in the target areas during the rainy season through the construction of a new primary drainage channel, the construction of two retention basins and the strengthening of the Lamadji pumping station; access to quality drinking water through the installation of 25 standpipes; improving hygiene by building latrines in schools and health centers, as well as 2,000 sanitary slabs; the completion of works to contribute to the stormwater sanitation, as well as the drinking water supply of six neighborhoods being structured.
