The Vientiane Sustainable Urban Transport Project (VSUTP) will improve the quality of life in Vientiane by improving access and mobility. The project will do this by establishing a sustainable urban transport management agency (SUTMA), a high-quality public bus transport system, a parking management system, and a national electronic vehicle registration system, and by improving traffic management and accessibility for pedestrians and nonmotorized transport (NMT). The project promotes gender mainstreaming, greenhouse gas reduction, and public private partnership. |
