Concerned to respect the formal notice of the State to close their unauthorized landfills, the municipalities of Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas decide to undertake work of rehabilitation and renaturation of their respective landfill of the Camel and Grand Cap. These works are almost identical and consist of: cleaning and remodeling of the surface of the stormwater management revegetation of the runoff management site by the establishment of a settling pond closure of the site.
IMPACTS
Despite the tense financial situation of the small municipality of Terre de Bas and a more contrasted situation for the commune of Terre de Haut, the financing of these operations made it possible to meet three essential objectives: the urgency to comply European regulatory requirements by bringing two landfills into compliance with environmental, biodiversity and social standards for these two municipalities. the preservation of the attractiveness of the territories, strongly dependent on tourism. |
