The project is to finance the start-up of its activities in the Central African Republic where Rougier obtained a forest concession of 270,000 hectares in August 2015 following the conclusion of an international call for tender, as well as the extension of the groups activities. in its other countries of intervention (Congo, Gabon and Cameroon). IMPACT OF THE PROJECT The project will have significant impacts on the socio-economic development of the groups intervention countries and will in particular support the development of sustainably managed forest concessions and contribute to the implementation of the highest international standards for environmental protection. in the countries of the Congo Basin. The project will create many direct jobs (500 jobs within 5 years) and indirect jobs, especially in remote areas where economic opportunities are scarce, and develop local economic and social infrastructure (construction and maintenance of the road network provision of basic services such as access to health care, water and education) for employees and their families, also benefiting local people |
