Project Objectives The Project aims to support the economic and social development in the Chari Logon plain at Sahr governorate , by providing required and sustainable water from Chari River to irrigate about 400 ha of agricultural lands distributed over ten different sites, namely Gnala(25ha), Maikum(25ha), Maimara(25ha), Kokaga haoussa(100ha), Kokaga koumra(25ha), Manda tasserti(25ha), Manda taderi(25ha), Mayo(50ha), Doba(50ha), and Astrock gabri(50ha) . Thus increasing rice production and other crops, improve farmers income, and support government food security strategy Project Description The Project consists mainly of civil and electromechanical works to develop the targeted lands and to construct about 10 water irrigation schemes, which includes river intakes, pump stations with all necessary electromechanical work, irrigation canals and the relevant structures, field access roads, and all the necessary administrative and service buildings for each site. The project also includes agricultural mechanization, inputs, training and extension services, consulting services for the preparation of detail design and the environmental & social study, tender documents and project supervision, institutional support, in addition to the Project Management.
