Project Objectives Supports the economic and social development of Bekaa Region of Lebanon by meeting demand on passengers and goods transport and removing traffic bottlenecks on the international transport corridor between Chroura Baalbeck and the Syrian Border to reduce vehicle operating cost and travel time
Project Description Improvement and widening of the Karak-Ryak Road of 6 km length to highway standards with two 3.5m lanes in each direction with a 2.0 m median island and 2.5 m shoulders and 1 m pedastrian foorpath either side. The project also includes the construction of 4 interchanges and a bridge on Litani River and drainage structure, utilities relocation, street lighting and road furniture, and consulting services for supervision.
