Project Content: Based on the funding provided by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), MASDAR and the Rural Areas Electricity Company of Oman (RAECO) implement the Dhofar Wind Power Project close to Salalah in the south of Oman. The project consists of design, construction, and commissioning of a 50 MW wind farm, the required substation and an overhead line to establish connection to the existing 132 kV grid belonging to the Oman Electricity and Transmission Company (OETC). Activities: Work Package 1: Assistance in bid evaluation (EPC and O&M): Evaluation of technical responsiveness, of the energy yield calculations provided in the bids, the proposed project schedule, warranties, deviations, and the O&M strategy Provision of technical support during contract negotiations Assistance in the preparation of the contract documents Work Package 2: Project management consultancy services for design review, material approval, construction management and works supervision: Review of the power purchase agreement (PPA) and the transmission connection agreement (TCA) Review and approval of design Witnessing of FATs for the 132 kV OHL equipment, the 132 and 33 kV switchgears, the 132/33 kV power and auxiliary transformers, the wind energy converters and associated equipment, the cabling, and the protection and SCADA systems Monitoring of environmental management and health and safety plans Construction management and works supervision, and assistance in commissioning. |
