Patel Engineering Limited (PEL), in collaboration with its Joint Venture (JV) partner, has been awarded a substantial contract valued at ?958.33 crore by the Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation, Pune. The project entails the construction of a Pipe Line Distribution Network for the Nira Deoghar Right Bank Main Canal, specifically from KM 87 to 135, and its associated Distributaries and Minors off-taking between KM 65 to KM 135. Patel Engineering Limited had previously been identified as the lowest bidder (L1) for this significant irrigation project. The project, located in Village Kalaj, Taluka Phaltan, District Satara, Maharashtra, is slated for completion within a timeframe of 36 months. It will be executed through a Joint Venture arrangement, with PEL holding a 20% share in the partnership. The comprehensive scope of work for the project includes excavation and refilling for pipe trenches, construction of various structures, supplying and jointing of pipes, as well as the lowering and laying of pipes. It also involves the installation of various types of valves, chambers, and outlets. Furthermore, the contract encompasses the testing of the pipeline with all its components, followed by an operations, repairs, and maintenance period of five years after the completion of the construction works.
