Work Detail The installation of six solar kits with 18 panels each, designed to power 5.5 HP water pumps, will allow farmers in the Topará Valley to access renewable energy and improve their living and working conditions. Nexa and Triple Flag have implemented a joint project in the Topará Valley, in the province of Chincha, department of Ica, which includes the installation of solar panels to facilitate agricultural irrigation. More than 120 families dedicated to avocado and grape cultivation will directly benefit from this initiative, supported by the World Gold Council. In a statement, the project explains that it has installed six solar kits, each consisting of 18 panels, at strategic points in the Pauna, Capilla, Chuspa, Buenavista, El Olivo, and Paunilla sectors. These systems power 5.5 HP water pumps, allowing water to be extracted from wells and supplying reservoirs for crop irrigation. Access to renewable energy will allow farmers to reduce their use of fossil fuels such as oil and gas, resulting in lower operating costs and increased family income. Furthermore, solar panels generate no noise, unlike electric generators, contributing to a more suitable environment for daily activities. The installation of the panels also provides shade in the crop fields, which can improve conditions for plant development and improve water use efficiency. The strategic location of the systems aims to optimize access to water resources throughout the area of ??influence of the Topará Valley Defense and Development Association. The collaboration between Nexa and Triple Flag builds on a multi-year relationship, in which both companies have promoted projects with social impact in communities near the Cerro Lindo mining operation. The project has received support from the World Gold Council. Representatives from Nexa and Triple Flag have highlighted the importance of these types of initiatives for local development and the generation of shared value. The strategic alliance between the two companies allows for the execution of projects aimed at meeting the specific needs of rural communities in southern Peru.
