The Municipality of La Plata launched an ambitious paving and urban improvement plan in the neighborhood of Hernández, with the goal of optimizing road infrastructure, mitigating flooding, and restoring public spaces. The project, promoted within the framework of the Public Works and Urban Maintenance Plan, includes the construction of 40 new blocks, the repair of 2,500 streetlights, and plumbing improvements in strategic areas of the neighborhood. Work began with the paving of 133rd Street between 508th and 511th Streets, and includes reprofiling ditches to facilitate stormwater runoff and reduce the risk of water accumulation during heavy rains, a common problem in the area. These works seek to address long-standing complaints from residents in an area of ??sustained growth and high demand for infrastructure. The plan includes work on 31st Avenue between 514th and 520th Streets, as well as on 508th, 510th, and 514th Streets, arteries that connect to the citys main thoroughfares. The following work will be carried out in total: 8 blocks with curb and gutter 11 blocks with asphalt pavement 21 stables with granular stabilization In addition, street corners will be improved and areas near public spaces will be renovated to facilitate pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The plan is also to install new streetlights on 29 blocks, complemented by the retrofitting of another 2,500 lights, contributing to improved safety and visibility at night. In parallel with these road and urban improvements, school infrastructure work is being carried out as part of a program that covers 80 educational establishments in the city. In Hernández, facilities have already been renovated at Elementary School No. 107, located on 510th Street between 132nd and 133rd Streets. With this package of works, the municipality seeks to better integrate neighborhoods, strengthen public services, and enhance urban environments, addressing the communitys daily needs and contributing to a more orderly, accessible, and safe city. |
