Work Detail | The AMT unit would be that which shared by the Renault Duster. The Terrano has been currently offered with a 1.6-litre petrol motor that makes 104 PS of power. Its diesel variants are set to two states of tune--the 85 PS and 110 PS, 1.5-litre engine. Out of these engines, only the 110 PS engine will get to mate with the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox. The Terrano will get the ZF-sourced Easy-R AMT gearbox shared by the Renault Duster, which will be a 6-speed unit. The launch of this AMT version, though earlier scheduled for the festive season, has now been postponed to be launched after Diwali. Nissan cites “technical reasons” for the postponement of the launch. The AMT model would be available at a premium of Rs. 60,000-80,000 over the price of the top of the line XV diesel variant that is set to a higher tune of 110 PS. So, expect the Nissan Terrano AMT to price around Rs. 14.5 lakh, which is about Rs. 80,000 over the price of the top-spec diesel trim’s price of Rs. 13.71 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Besides the change in the transmission option, new upholstery is expected along with touchscreen infotainment with GPS-navigation, automatic climate control, while the exterior will remain the same as that of the other trims. |
