In the framework of the 39th anniversary of Caviahue-Copahue, the Neuquén government opened the bidding process for public tender No. 05/25 to reinforce the sewage collector in the town. This project seeks to support the urban and tourist growth of the village, with a provincial investment exceeding $692 million and a completion period of 120 calendar days. The project is part of the Caviahue Sewage Drainage Master Plan and will be fully funded with provincial resources. The project includes the construction of a new sewage collector, 544 meters long and 250 mm in diameter, parallel to the existing 160 mm diameter, on Avenida Costanera Quimey-Co. In addition, a generator will be installed to ensure operation during power outages, the operators cabin will be remodeled, and a cover will be added to the pumping station in the southern area. During the event, the delegate from the Alto Neuquén Region emphasized the environmental importance of this project and highlighted the focus of the Provincial Regionalization Plan, which seeks to decentralize and prioritize investments in underserved regions. The mayor of Caviahue-Copahue also praised the project as fundamental for a community that continues to expand and requires appropriate sanitation solutions. The president of the Provincial Water and Sanitation Authority (EPAS), the agency in charge of the bidding process, emphasized that this initiative is part of a comprehensive sanitation plan promoted by the current administration, aimed at improving the quality of life of Neuquén residents and preserving the natural environment. This project is a concrete step toward improving basic infrastructure for more than a thousand permanent residents and tourists, consolidating sustainable development in a highly environmentally sensitive region.
