The General Company for Mining Industries, part of Iraqs Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has announced the successful completion of rehabilitation and modernization work at its aluminium casting plant, in partnership with the private sector. According to Director General Eng. Ahmed Faleh Ali, the upgraded facility will initially produce 250 tonnes of aluminium castings annually, with capacity expected to increase to 450 tonnes within the next three years. The environmentally friendly plant recycles scrap aluminium into high-purity (98%) castings of various shapes, which are used as raw material for aluminium profiles and other manufactured products. The plant has now begun operations and delivered its first production batch of 100 tonnes to the local market. The Director General confirmed that the project will boost the companys industrial capacity and strengthen domestic production, helping meet the demands of both public and private sector clients for high-quality aluminium products. |
