It is, it claims, the only renewable energy company in Argentina with battery energy storage systems in operation and connected to the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI). 360Energy, an Argentine multinational company minority-owned by vehicle manufacturer Stellantis, officially announced the launch of its second battery plant at the Cañada Honda Photovoltaic Solar Park in the Argentine province of San Juan. At one time, it was the largest photovoltaic park in the country and secured financing in 2012. Last year, the company announced an expansion with the 13 MW Cañada Honda IV plant in the department of Sarmiento, San Juan province. According to the company, it is the only renewable energy company in Argentina with battery energy storage systems (BESS) in operation and connected to the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI). The storage system implemented by the company consists of two Huawei Luna2000 modules, with a total capacity of 4 MWh. The installed Huawei modules will be added to the first Sungrow battery bank already installed by 360Energy in 2022, totaling a storage capacity of 6 MWh. Daniel Centeno, Operations and Maintenance Manager at 360Energy, emphasized: “We are proud to launch our second large-scale energy storage system at the Cañada Honda solar park. This project represents a concrete step forward in our commitment to technological innovation and allows us to continue exploring, alongside other industry players, the potential of BESS systems connected to the SADI.” |
