Work Detail Santa Fe awarded the Southwest Dairy Gas Pipeline project for $7.4 billion: it will benefit industries and residents of the San Cristóbal department. The government of the province of Santa Fe has awarded the first phase of the Sudoeste Lechero Gas Pipeline , a key project for the regions productive development, with an investment exceeding $7.4 billion . The project was awarded to the joint venture formed by PEITEL SA and ROVIAL SA , winner of Public Tender No. 01/24, and will be executed by Santa Fe Gas y Energías Renovables SAPEM (ENERFE). This first stage involves the construction of 35 kilometers of 6-inch steel pipeline , connecting the towns of Arrufó, Villa Trinidad, and San Guillermo , in the department of San Cristóbal. The estimated completion date is 12 months from the start of work. The main objective of the pipeline is to guarantee the supply of natural gas to more than 55 companies , with a strong presence in the dairy sector , as well as to improve the energy infrastructure for thousands of residents in the benefited areas. Furthermore, the project is expected to boost job creation and consolidate a more efficient and sustainable energy system for the area. The award ceremony took place in the city of San Guillermo , attended by ENERFE President Rodolfo Giacosa and provincial authorities. During the meeting, it was highlighted that this gas pipeline is one of six planned for the Provincial Gasification Program , which projects a 610-kilometer network , benefiting more than 45 towns, 120,000 residents, and 250 industries throughout Santa Fe. Giacosa stated that work is already underway on the second phase of the project , which will extend the network to Colonia Rosa and Suardi , completing coverage in the northwest of the province. The feasibility of this project was accelerated thanks to the fact that the executive project and feasibility studies were commissioned and funded years ago, which allowed for a streamlined bidding process. The Southwest Dairy Pipeline is part of an energy infrastructure strategy designed to boost industrial and productive activity in Santa Fe, especially in an area characterized by its high concentration of dairy farms, dairy processing plants, and agro-industrial SMEs. The project also represents a significant advance in territorial equity by guaranteeing access to natural gas in communities in the provinces deep interior.
