It is a development of the Amazonas Energía Solar consortium, formed by the French multinational EDF and the Peruvian company Novum Solar. The project, part of a tender awarded three years ago, is located in the department of Loreto and involves an estimated investment of $8.5 million. The Regional Directorate of Energy and Mines (DREM) of the department of Loreto, under the Ministry of Energy and Mines, has received a definitive concession request for the 10 MW Caballococha solar project, which the Amazonas Energía Solar consortium, formed by the French multinational EDF and the Peruvian company Novum Solar, seeks to develop in the district of Ramón Castilla, province of Mariscal Ramón Castilla. The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) submitted by the company states that the plant will be built in two stages, the first with an installed capacity of 8.22 MW and the second with an installed capacity of 1.79 MW. The project is part of a competitive process organized by the electricity distribution companies Electro Oriente (ELOR) and Electro Ucayali (ELUC) for the construction of 11 hybrid plants with the goal of generating 100% of the demand in 11 cities in their areas of influence, mainly in the regions of Loreto and Ucayalilas. A significant portion of this energy, between 50% and 75%, must come from renewable sources. It is within this framework that Amazonas Energía Solar was selected in July 2022 to build 10 hybrid power plants awarded by ELOR and ELUC and operate them for 15 to 25 years. Two of these plants, in Atalaya and Purús, have been in operation since the end of 2020. Two other photovoltaic plants with storage, totaling 9.6 MWp and 13.5 MWh , respectively, located in Requena and Tamshiyacu, both in Loreto, were inaugurated in November of last year by Amazonas Energía Solar. |
